North Seymour Island and Bachas Beach
This tour starts with a trip to Bachas Beach on the northside of Santa Cruz Island. On Bachas Beach you can take a short walk down the sand to a small laguna where you can see flamingos. You will also be able to snorkel just off the beach before returning to the boat for lunch. North Seymour Island is a natural haven for some of the most sought after residents in the Galapagos Islands. The leisurely nature trail meanders through large colonies of blue-footed boobies and frigates. Depending on the time of year, this is an excellent place to witness the thrilling mating rituals each bird is famous for or intimately observe the fascinating dynamics between a mother and its chick. This island is only a short boat ride from Santa Cruz, but its geological origins and interesting topography are dramatically different and not to be missed!
