Location & Geography: Las Tintoreras is approximately 10 minutes south of Puerto Villamil by boat. The A'A' lava formations create a protected bay that is ideal for various marine species. A large crevice in the lava forms a channel that is popular for White-Tip Sharks and the surround Mangroves are ideal habitat for breeding Marine Iguanas and Sea Lions.

Terrestrial Wildlife: Blue-Footed Boobies, Frigatebirds, California Sea Lion colony, Marine Iguana colony.

Marine Wildlife: Sea Lions, Marine Iguanas, White-tip Sharks, Large Rays, Sea Turtles, Pelagic and Reef Fish

Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous due to terrain and exposure : hiking over uneven terrain, rocks and unpaved trails, dry landing transfer from motor yacht to zodiac to dock, open water snorkeling from boat.

You will need: closed shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, snorkel gear, wear bathing suit.
