Explore North Seymour Island
North Seymour Island is a natural haven for some of the most sought after residents in the Galapagos Islands. The leisurely nature trail meanders through large colonies of frigate birds and blue footed boobies. Depending on the time of year, this is an excellent place to witness the thrilling mating rituals each bird is famous for or intimately observe the fascinating dynamics between a mother and its chick. For those interested in underwater wildlife, North Seymour offers some wonderful snorkeling opportunities, drifting along on the fast moving current past white-tipped sharks, garden eels, and sea lions who occasionally surf the crashing waves all the way into the shore. This island is only a short boat ride from Santa Cruz, but it's geological origins and interesting topography are dramatically different and not to be missed!
